Fish Frosh Volunteers Needed
Fish Frosh is an opportunity for new arrivals at McGill to see the sights and experience the city in a safer, less alcohol-influenced way to the standard frosh. This is a great opportunity for Impact to reach out to students who already express the idea that maybe life is about more than partying. We will be participating or hosting at many of the events in the weekend, so if you’d like to help out, please contact alvin@impactchurch.ca
Welcome Hall mission needs volunteers for Back to School event
It’s
summer! School is out and for the next couple of months children will
be free to play without any worries of homework or tests. And while
they are out playing in the sun, we are preparing for their return to
school with our annual “Back to School” event. On Thursday, Aug. 23rd
and Friday, Aug. 24th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, we will be giving out
school supplies to 2 000 children who are in disadvantaged families.

SMALL GROUPS FOR THE FALL - ENORMOUS IMPACT
Interested
in making a major Impact with your life this fall? Lead an Impact
Small Group where you can help others experience Christian community,
authenticity, forgiveness, prayer, God’s Word, fellowship,
accountability, ministry, fun and much more! Lon will be taking
leaders through a training time at the beginning of the semester to
equip you with all you need to know to be a great small group leader,
and he’ll meet occasionally with you to freshen up your spiritual and
people leadership skills. Bill Hybels, pastor of Willow Creek Church
said it well when he said, “Life change happens in small groups.” And
John Wesley led one of the greatest revivals of all time spanning from
Europe to N. America based almost entirely upon banding disciples
together into small groups. And don’t let your own self-esteem or low
view of yourself spiritually be an excuse for not leading a group - Lon
has said that he will come alongside anyone who is simply WILLING to be
used by God in this way and God can do amazing things to get you
ready. If God gives you a desire to make an impact in this way, please
contact Lon and see what happens!! lon@impactchurch.ca

who are willing to serve in our new children’s ministry. Each week we
will need of 2-3 volunteers who would be on a rotating schedule. E-mail
owen@impactchurch.ca to let him know if you are interested!
Needs Board
Do
you have a need that can be filled by another member of our community?
In need of some winter boots, someone who can sew on a button, or some
food for a week when you’re low on cash? We are starting up a new
ministry so we can all look out for each other and work on loving our
fellow community members. We will have both a physical board and “needs
box” as well as a section in the announcements each week. E-mail
amy@impactchurch.ca with any needs that you have, or any skills that
you can provide for others!
